About the Band
The Blizzard Youth Winds provides young musicians an opportunity to rehearse and perform a wide variety of concert band music in a concentrated, professional type of experience and gives them an opportunity to meet and work with musicians from other schools throughout the Snowbelt region. The band is directed by Greg Hillis.

Eligibility
Woodwind, brass and percussion students currently in grades 6 through 12 are all eligible to participate. In order to keep a balanced sound, there is a limit to the number of players in each instrument section. Players will be taken on a first-come basis within each section, so be sure to get your registration in early. After a section is full, additional players will be put on a waiting list.
Participating musicians should have a minimum of one year of experience, preferably at least two. Participating musicians should be able to perform basic rhythms using whole, half, quarter, eighth, sixteenth notes, and triplets in 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, and 6/8 times and be able to perform at least a one octave chromatic scale on their instrument.
See our musician information page for more details on participating in the Blizzard Youth Winds ensemble, including the rehearsal schedule for our next session.
